BCS Women Lovelace Colloquium

Thursday 8th April 2010
Overview

This annual one-day event is open to all undergraduate AND taught postgraduate women in computing and related disciplines across the UK, and beyond. The day comprises a poster competition for students, speakers from industry and academia, and concludes with a social event.

The event is named after Ada Lovelace (pictured right), a computing pioneer and often considered to be the first programmer.

Previously hosted to great success in the University of Leeds, in 2010 it was hosted by the School of Computer Science & Informatics, Cardiff University.

To find out about the the 2010 event why not check out the selection of photographs from the day, look at the winning posters, or read articles about the day: Google's Students Blog: 'Recognizing and supporting female engineering achievements at the annual Lovelace Colloquium', Success for University of Bath students, & Amanda's blog

Aims

The aims of this annual event are:

  • To provide a forum for undergraduate and taught postgraduate women to share their ideas and network;
