Welcome to the One-Word mailing list. This list is dedicated to the great jazz guitarist John McLaughlin. It is administered by Dave Marshall. The original lists were created by Andrus Kangro in honour of Andres Didrik, who was the first person to develop a John McLaughlin tribute Website. It was called Pages of Fire. While it no longer exists, several other fine sites have been created. Fans from these sites all over the world have joined the One-Word lists, (named after a composition of John's which appears on Birds of Fire), for discussion and news which relates to John McLaughlin.
You may choose to receive postings immediately, in a daily digest, in a weekly digest, or not at all!.
To subscibe to the immediate or daily list go to The one-word list information page.
To subscibe to the weekly list go to The one-word-weekly list information page.
You can register and control your current subscription options through the web. See controlling my subscription for details.
By default, postings are sent out to list members as they are received. You may choose to receive a collection of mails sent in a "digest". The digest is sent daily, or whenever the volume reaches some pre-set threshold.
There are other options. You may choose not to receive postings at all from the one-word list. In this case, you can join the one-word-weekly list and receive the postings in a weekly digest. One-word-weekly is a "read only" list. It receives messages sent to one-word, but does not accept postings sent to one-word-weekly.
If you don't want to receive postings in your mail at all, you can simply use the list's website to look at archived postings (see the link below).
If you have any questions regarding the list, please contact Dave Marshall ( Dave.Marshall@cs.cardiff.ac.uk), or Robert Evans (Robert.Evans@cs.cardiff.ac.uk).
