Poiseuille flow is two-dimensional flow in a straight pipe.
The question of the stability of the steady flow, particularly with a parabolic
velocity profile, is a long-standing one that has received intense treatment
numerically, but very little analytically. The talk will examine what we can
prove about this problem.
