Abstract

Spectral Concentration and Resonances for Sturm-Liouville Problems

M.S.P. Eastham

The lecture gives an account of recent computational and theoretical methods concerning:

  1. the existence of spectral concentration for potentials which are
    • exponentially decreasing at infinity
    • power decreasing (power $<-1$) at infinity
    • slowely decreasing (power between $-$ and $0$)
  2. perturbed discrete spectra
  3. spectral intervals without concentration
  4. resonances in the unphysical sheet.
