Abstract

On the Positivity of the Energy of the Relativistic Electron-Positron Field H. Siedentop Positivity of the energy of the electron-positron field is shown for Hartree-Fock states uniformly in the number of nuclei which are present (stability of matter). This can be done provided the nuclear charges and the fine structure constant do not exceed certain critical values. This is joint work with Jean-Marie Barbaroux, Volker Bach, and Bernard Helffer.
