M. Levitin's research
is mostly in spectral theory and applications in mechanic s. His main
recent results include asymptotic and numerical analysis of spectral problems
in domains with non-smooth (fractal) boundaries, existence theorems for
embedded eigenvalues in waveguides, computer-assisted analysis of heat
invariants and spectral asymptotics for the trace of the heat semigroup,
and, most recently, general spectral trace identities for self-adjoint
and non-self-adjoint operators and universal estimates for eigenvalues
