Research Interests
Areas of scientific interest and research include:
- text mining: language resources, document classification, information retrieval and extraction
- information management: data modelling, data mining, relational and XML databases, user interface development
- knowledge management: development, application and standardisation of ontologies
- machine learning: case-based reasoning, support vector machines, genetic algorithms, naïve Bayesian learning
- systems biology, bioinformatics and health informatics applications of the above
