Research Interests
Research interests include:
- Information Security: defining policy requirements and building access control technology
- Privacy: understanding privacy and consent requirements in distributed collaborative information systems
- Text Mining: collation, storage and analysis of text information
- Distributed systems: building distributed information sharing and retrieval systems
- Social Media Analysis: sentiment analysis and pattern matching to detect social issues and build systems to support resilience
- Health Informatics: building secure systems to share and analyse electronic patient records and clinical information
While I am part of an academic team of researchers and lecturers, I have a persistent desire to drive my research and development from commercial requirements. As a member of the Jericho Forum, I am very interested in research and development that addresses the issue of de-perimeterisation in Information Systems.
