My research interests broadly lie in the areas of applied geometry and computational modelling. This encompasses geometric and solid modelling, processing of meshes, curves and surfaces, pattern recognition, graphics, and computational geometry as well as system identification and modelling of physical and biological systems. Special interests include point-based modelling, design intent of geometric models, approximate symmetries and regular patterns, and reverse engineering geometric models. Furthermore, I am also working on quantum engineering, especially on simulating, identifying and controlling quantum systems with applications in areas such as nano-electronics, photonics, imaging, communication, and computing.
