Virtualized Workflow Platform for building Cloud Computing Applications
Supervisor: Dr C. Walker
Keywords: cloud computing, visualization, scheduling algorithms
As cloud computing becomes a dominant mechanism for resource-sharing, the rapidly increasing number of cloud computing centres/providers brings choice and complexity when selecting resources among different cloud computing platforms and building complex composite cloud applications. A virtualized workflow platform provides an easy-to-use and efficient way for users to build, deploy and execute a cloud computing application.
Scheduling/forecasting algorithms, based on both cost efficiency as well as performance, will be studied to provide the optimum/near-optimum solutions/recommendations to certain applications.
Key Skills/Background: Strong problem-solving ability and 2.1 degree in computer science or related subjects with good programming experience.
