Digital Image Forgery Detection
Supervisor: Dr X. Sun
Keywords: Image Processing, Graphics, Pattern Recognition
Digital images can be easily forged using widely available image and graphics editing software. Digital image forgery detection is the technique of discovering evidence of tempering in digital images. Some of the forgery detection approaches investigate inconsistencies of camera response functions, lighting, and chromatic aberration in images. Others involve detection of certain modes of manipulation using JPEG quantization table, bicoherence, statistical modelling and robust matching techniques. The development of image editing software undoubtedly lowers the detection accuracy of forged images. In this project, we will develop new methodology of forgery detection by combining analyses on imaging techniques and forgery features.
Key Skills/Background: Strong mathematical background and excellent computing skills required.
