Sybille Hempel-Abromeit and Antje Siefert

Sybille Hempel-Abromeit

Sybille Hempel-Abromeit was born in Tübingen. She studied piano at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg and München and, early on, developed her love for chamber music and working with singers. Playing in various combinations, her musical range covers renaissance to contemporary music, and first performances of dedicated works. She has given many recitals and concerts in different countries. This will be her fourth concert at Gregynog Hall.

Antje Siefert

The German mezzo-soprano Antje Siefert was born in Braunschweig and studied singing in Hannover and Amsterdam with Margreet Honig and Jard van Nes. She visited masterclasses with Judith Beckmann, Gisela May and others. At the moment, Antje Siefert is again living in Braunschweig and is mainly active as a concert singer. She loves a wide variety of musical work: music from early baroque to modern, recitals and oratorios, opera, and she is a member of a tango-ensemble.

Antje likes travelling to places which are connected to concert programmes: in 2007 she was a guest in the Rilke-Fondation in Sierre/ Switzerland with modern compositions on poems by Rainer Maria Rilke and in 2009 and 2010 in the Schumannhaus in Bonn.

From 2008-10 she worked at the opera of Hildesheim-Hannover. Since 2007 she has been a member of the Stuttgarter Kammerchor (director: Frieder Bernius) and through this takes part at many concerts at international music festivals and makes various CD recordings.
