Blinkx founder to speak at Cardiff Turing Lecture
Blinkx founder Suranga Chandratilake FREng will be the speaker at the BCS/IET Annual Turing lectures series in February 2013
The School of Computer Science & Informatics is very pleased to announce that Cardiff has once again been secured as one of four venues to host the 2013 BCS/IET Annual Turing lectures series early next year.
Particularly exciting is that the speaker will be blinkx founder and Chief Strategy Officer Suranga Chandratillake FREng.
The King's College Cambridge graduate started the Internet Video Search Engine in 2004 and led as CEO until 2012. Prior to blinkx, Suranga was Autonomy plc's US Chief Technology Officer and led the effort to enable Autonomy's software to work in highly distributed environments.
His talk is entitled "What they didn't teach me: building a technology company and taking it to market".
The Cardiff Turing Lecture takes place on Thursday 21 February, 2013 and places are free but attendees do need to book a place.
