Turning The Macintosh into a Local Web Server

• From the Chooser in the Apple Menu select Microsoft Personal Web Server

• Click Start Button on Starting Microsoft Personal Web Server Application.

• Place HTML files in My Personal Web Site Folder on the Maclab Hard Disk.
• Alternatively before starting up the Personal Web Server Application you could select the folders where your file(s) are stored.

• From Explorer/Netscape select the URL http://macname.cs.cf.ac.uk where macname is the name of the Macintosh you currently using. The name should be printed on a label on the front of the machine.

NOTE: Files are not permanently stored here. Once the Macintosh is restarted the files will be lost. Make sure you backup regularly to floppy disk or permanent UNIX storage
