Supervised by Kirill Sidorov; Moderated by Xianfang Sun

This project aims to develop an algorithm for real-time video enhancement using a camera to simulate a pair of “virtual active glasses”. The goal of this system is to enhance the visual experience for the user through different computer vision techniques in order to bring the object of focus to the forefront. Techniques could include blurring to create a bokeh effect and increasing the brightness, contrast, or sharpness of the object of interest. Other techniques to bring the object of focus to the forefront could include selective colourisation, edge enhancement, and replacing text in real time. The combination of these techniques could enhance the visual experience for users who may be visually impaired or those who want to improve their vision.
