Supervised by David W Walker; Moderated by Wendy K Ivins

In this project you will investigate the technical problems that must be overcome to enable the widespread adoption of driverless vehicles on our roads, together with any social or psychological issues that may be a barrier to their use. You should consider the issue of the adoption of driverless vehicles from the perspectives of potential users, technology companies interested in developing driverless technologies, established car manufacturers (such as Ford), and global insurance companies. For each perspective, you should analyse the opportunities and threats that might arise from the widespread adoption of driverless vehicles.
