PATS Project Wiki

This documents preparing and submitting projects for some of the project modules at the School of Computer Science and Informatics at Cardiff University via PATS. Please choose the main page from the list below, depending on the project module you are taking to get started, as the modules have different requirements and deliverables.

This information is updated over time, so please check this site regularly and whenever you have a question about your project. You can also subscribe to an RSS feed to keep up to date.

Important updates will also be announced by e-mail via the relevant student and staff e-mail lists or directly to your PATS e-mail address. Some of these e-mails are sent automatically by the PATS bot, especially about missed or close deadlines. So please check your e-mail regularly and ensure your PATS e-mail is correct.

Project Archive

Previous projects published are available under the Archive section of PATS. Note that these projects may have been executed under different requirements than yours, but they can still serve as a general example.

Discussion

At the bottom of some wiki pages, you find a discussion section where you can leave comments, suggestions or questions relating to the content if logged into PATS. This feature is intended for general comments and discussions. We do not regularly read these comments, so if it is something urgent, important, or relates specifically to your project, please e-mail your supervisor or project coordinator instead.

DokuWiki, Development

For editors, see the DokuWiki documentation, including wiki syntax.

PATS is actively developed at https://qyber.black/xis10z/code-pats. The code is not released as it is specific to our modules and complex to install, but issues can be viewed. If you wish to join the project, contact Frank C Langbein. Also, contact Frank if you encounter any bugs or feature requests. If logged into PATS, you can choose from (1) the stable version, which should have no issues; (2) the testing version, which should generally work and may have some new features; or (3) the unstable version, which may or may not work.

We hope you will find this information valuable for completing your project. If you have any comments, find any mistakes or wish to suggest suitable sources of advice, please let the project coordinator know so we can include this here.
